Airmax telematics brings major changes in driver behaviour for Infinis

Infinis has reported significant results attributed to improved driver behaviour after deploying Airmax Remote’s telematics solution across its fleet.

The firm, a leading generator of low carbon power from captured landfill and mineral methane, appointed Airmax for its 180-strong fleet following a tender process, and is using Airmax Remote’s Premium Plus telematics service level to gain greater visibility of its employees, who frequently operate on their own and in remote parts of the UK. This enables the business to deploy a vehicle and an engineer based on important additional considerations such as road condition, distance and appropriate vehicle type.

The Airmax technology is also showing a significant positive impact on driver behaviour, whereby employees have access to their driver portal, which delivers a scorecard based on their driving style and identifying core areas for improvement.

Analysis of driver data between 2018 and 2019 reveals significant results and improvements in driver behaviour including a 5% decrease in high-risk driving hours, 39% decrease in harsh acceleration, 58% decrease in high revving, 59% decrease in higher speed events and overall reduction of all speeding events and 2% decrease in harsh braking.

Duane Longthorn, Infinis head of procurement, commented: “At Infinis we invest heavily in fuel and the maintenance of the fleet and the Airmax Remote system provides us with a suite of reports that assist us in improving driver safety behaviour and driving down fleet costs. We are very proud to be one of the few companies in the UK that is delivering a positive impact against climate change and this technology is proving to be a valuable tool in assisting to deliver our vision of generating a low carbon future.”

Richard Perham, group managing director of Airmax Remote, added: “We are delighted to have delivered all the benefits and savings to Infinis via their adoption of our Premium Plus Service. The figures representing improvements in driver behaviour further illustrate the power of our technology in delivering significant change, while empowering and incentivising employees and reducing costs for the business.”
