Beefed-up Nissan Navara AT32 now on sale

It’s billed as the toughest-ever Nissan Navara and now the AT32 has gone on sale in an updated version designed to be tougher but also more efficient.

As with its predecessor – a sell-out success according to Nissan – it’s built in partnership with Icelandic off-road experts Arctic Trucks, as reflected by the name, and follows the launch of the updated Navara earlier this year.

Available from £42,850 OTR, the refreshed model is powered by the higher-power 190hp twin-turbo 2.3-litre diesel in the standard Navara and gets new 31.6-inch Nokian Rotiiva AT Plus tyres, not only to improve fuel economy and emissions but also to enhance on-road handling without compromising off-road performance. It also features black Arctic Trucks alloy wheels, which are fitted with dual valves to ensure fast and accurate adjustment of tyre pressures when moving between different terrains.

The full underbody shielding has been upgraded to aluminium, intended to provide better protection of underbody bits.

A raised air intake and extended breather system is also available, which increases the Navara’s maximum wading depth to 800mm.

It carries over key features from the previous Navara AT32, such as the extended Arctic Trucks wheel arch flares and an optimised and elevated Arctic Trucks Bilstein performance suspension system.

AT32 branding is used across the exterior and drivers can also specify optional extras such as a sunroof (£400 (excl. VAT), full-size AT spare wheel and tyre (£400) and locking front differential (£3,250).

Advanced driver assistance features include Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Intelligent Emergency Braking and Intelligent Around View Monitor.

The AT32 is priced from £42,850 (excl. VAT) for a six-speed truck with manual transmission, rising £46,870 for a seven-speed automatic in ‘N-Guard’ spec.
