BFT heightens fleet visibility with Teletrac Navman deal

Teletrac Navman has signed a contract with BFT Mastclimbing Ltd, to provide its market-leading telematics software and hardware, enabling the construction contractor to have increased visibility of its nationwide fleet and assets.

BFT Mastclimbing Ltd is the UK’s leading independent specialist for Mast Climbing Work Platforms (MCWPs), and manages the design, delivery and installation of more than 600 MCWPs to some of the UK’s largest and most demanding building and engineering contractors.

The business is now using Teletrac Navman’s DIRECTOR platform, which is an advanced fleet tracking system that enables BFT Mastclimbing Ltd’s fleet managers to have access to real time data in one easy-to-use interface. It provides the business with a diverse range of information, from the location of individual vehicles (tracked in real time) to monitoring fuel usage and driver performance.

Use of DIRECTOR will be coupled with Teletrac Navman’s Smart Telematics performance reporting, which will help BFT Mastclimbing Ltd to significantly reduce wage, fuel, and other business costs, by geo-fencing vehicles to ascertain when workers are actually clocked onto a job, more effective route planning, and optimising vehicle use. Driver behaviour has been a slight concern for the business, so now BFT Mastclimbing Ltd has a sophisticated way of measuring harsh driving events, they can implement a scoring system by which to appraise and train its drivers to improve performance on the road and reduce insurance premiums.

As a business that revolves around its customers, Teletrac Navman has also provided the expertise of its Professional Services team, to guide BFT Mastclimbing Ltd right through the process from the planning and implementation of the solution, right through to additional training to ensure the contractor’s fleet managers extract as much value from the tools and data as possible, and manage the system correctly.

Kevin Inkley, Transport Manager at BFT Mastclimbing Ltd, said: “Our business has grown exponentially over the past ten years, but that has left us a little in the dark with the movements of our fleet and assets across the country, which of course are a big expense.

“With Teletrac Navman, we now have the perfect partner in place to help us improve our fleet and asset management, making us a stronger business as we move towards further growth. The support of Professional Services has been invaluable in ensuring we see a positive ROI from this investment, and leave our fleet managers feeling empowered to do their jobs effectively and efficiently.”
