DriveTech brings robust road risk support for A14 IDT team

DriveTech has been recognised for its work with the A14 Integrated Delivery Team to strengthen road safety performance and driver behaviour.

The A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon Improvement scheme being run by Highways England is currently the UK’s largest road project and includes the construction of a new 12-mile bypass, the widening and improvement of existing roads and a major new bypass to the south of Huntingdon.

Under the programme, DriveTech has been chosen to provide a comprehensive range of driver risk and training services, including driving licence checks, online driver assessments and e-learning.

The project is well underway, with a total of 600 drivers on the project assessed to date, helping to improve the road risk profile of the A14 team, its supply chain partners and members of the road using public.

Commenting on the partnership, Andy Gibson, the A14’s fleet controller, said: “DriveTech is a committed driver risk management service provider and fits ideally with the IDT’s focus on setting high safety standards within the construction and engineering sector. As well as licence checking, the DriveTech online driver assessments and e-learning modules provide an effective means by which we can assess and classify the level of risk to which our drivers are likely to be exposed in their work. DriveTech’s support allows us to concentrate on delivering the project safely. They have also made it easy for me to work with them and helped in our own processes to make it easier for drivers too.”
