Europcar Mobility Group UK brings welcome support to KidsOut Christmas campaign

Hundreds of toys and games have been donated by Europcar Mobility Group UK employees to ensure disadvantaged children have gifts to open on Christmas day.

The donations have been made to the KidsOut ‘Giving Tree’ Christmas campaign and will be distributed to disadvantaged children currently living in refuge homes around the UK.

Explaining the charity’s work, Gordon Moulds, CEO of KidsOut, said: “Each year more than 20,000 children flee domestic abuse to seek sanctuary – often having to leave quickly, taking no possessions with them. Without our ‘Giving Tree’ campaign these children may not otherwise receive a gift at Christmas. We are therefore delighted that Europcar Mobility Group UK and its employees have chosen to support us at what can be an especially difficult time of year for children.”

Kevin Rand, operations director, Europcar Mobility Group UK, added: “As part of our active social responsibility programme, employees have chosen to support KidsOut through a number of initiatives over the next year. The ‘Giving Tree’ campaign is the first of these. It’s been amazing to see the toys coming in at our locations around the country and a great pleasure to ensure the toys all got to the KidsOut depot.”

Anyone in the company who wanted to join in collected a gift tag from a ‘Giving Tree’ at their workplace. Each tag had the name of a child and the gift they would like to receive written on it. Europcar then arranged for delivery of all the presents from the various collection points to the main KidsOut distribution centre in Luton using its own fleet of vans.

“We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support we are getting from Europcar Mobility Group UK – every present we receive means that we are able to bring more fun and happiness to more children at Christmas and give them memories that they will cherish,” added Gordon Moulds.
