FOD Mobility Group focuses on core Fleetondemand business and mulls MaaS options

FOD Mobility Group is weighing up options for its Mobilleo Mobility-as-a-Service platform as it puts prime focus on its core Fleetondemand business.

The Mobilleo platform was officially launched by Fleetondemand in 2018 and enables users to plan, book and pay for their journeys in one place.

The change of strategy, announced by recently appointed group CEO Joe Howick, will streamline operations and concentrate 100% of the company’s efforts on the group’s ground transportation offering under the GT Suite platform.

Howick commented: “After a comprehensive review of our business strategy and market opportunities, we have decided to sharpen our focus on our core strengths. The vehicle rental market offers significant growth potential, with projections indicating robust expansion over the next few years, driven by increasing demand for flexible, short and mid-term vehicle access among businesses.

“Fleetondemand is uniquely positioned to capitalise on this trend, having already experienced record growth over the last few years in the adoption of our services from new customer wins in the UK, and from newly acquired customers in target markets across Europe. On top of the company’s planned organic growth, we are also considering the potential to make strategic acquisitions to further strengthen our market position.”

FOD Mobility Group was formed in 2020 following Fleetondemand’s acquisition of FleetEurope the year before, bringing together a portfolio of vehicle hire and mobility solutions for UK and international businesses.

These include the GT Suite platform, which integrates multiple forms of ground transportation, including vehicle rental, taxi, car sharing and pool fleet management services.

Winner of the Innovation in Mobility title at this year’s Great British Fleet Awards, the platform enhances customers’ vehicle booking and management experience; it’s said to offer unmatched vehicle availability with access to more rental vehicles and branch locations than any other rental supplier in the UK.

The GT Suite platform is also available as a white label solution that’s increasingly in demand from major rental suppliers, fleet operators and trade organisations looking to provide bespoke, end-to-end vehicle rental management services directly to their own customers.

Joe Howick said the decision to focus solely on the ground transportation side was driven by Fleetondemand’s proven track record and longstanding blue-chip customer base, underscored by recent awards wins including the Great British Fleet Awards accolade.

Future developments are also underway; these include an enhanced version of the current FOD Ride on-demand and pre-booked taxi service and a new FOD Pool service that will offer businesses centralised booking and management of their own pool fleet vehicles, plus access to flexible mid-term rental vehicles, driver information and detailed management reporting.

Both services will be integrated within the GT Suite platform, further expanding Fleetondemand’s comprehensive ground transport solutions.
