Jaama previews new vehicle maintenance solution at 2019 CV Show

Martin Evans, managing-director, Jaama

Jaama has given an insight into its forthcoming Maintenance Exchange platform at the 2019 Commercial Vehicle Show ahead of its launch towards the end of the year.

Developed to help drive administration and operational efficiencies for the industry, the Maintenance Exchange maintenance and compliance platform is intended to revolutionise the way information is exchanged between fleet management companies, maintenance providers and end-user fleets.

Debuting on Jaama’s stand (4G100) at the 2019 CV Show, the ‘end-to-end’ system will allow seamless booking, authorisation, invoicing and auditing of vehicle maintenance work, significantly reducing the administrative burden of manual processes.

Part of Jaama’s ongoing work towards paperless asset management, the new product connects with Jaama’s Key2 fleet and asset management system or can interface with other third-party systems.

Critically, for commercial vehicle end-user fleets, Maintenance Exchange also enables them to collect information for the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) Earned Recognition Scheme that monitors fleet compliance data..

Commercial end-user fleets that use Key2 are able to send defined Earned Recognition Scheme key performance indicator information to the DVSA every four weeks including data captured from driver defect checks, servicing and MOTs.

Jaama is recognised by the DVSA as a ‘validated IT supplier’ for its Key2 web-based technology and last year it launched an Earned Recognition Scheme module that enables commercial vehicle operators to create, store and manage compliance data.

Martin Evans, managing director of Jaama, said: “Development of Maintenance Exchange, which can be used to manage vans as well as vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, enables fleet and transport managers to centralise their view of all compliance data and documentation, which is exactly what they want and need.”

“Maintenance Exchange also enables fleets to implement service level agreements with their vehicle maintenance suppliers to further improve document delivery without manual intervention.

“Businesses are recognising the benefits of digitalising documentation. As a consequence, Maintenance Exchange further enables commercial vehicle fleets to embrace technology to drive administration and operational efficiencies as we move ever-closer to a paperless business environment.”

He concluded: “Jaama continues to work with commercial vehicle fleet operators that are already using Key2 to further enhance Maintenance Exchange. However, we believe that the 2019 Commercial Vehicle Show provides the ideal opportunity to showcase our prototype.

“Jaama not only continues to invest some £2m a year in the continuing development of Key2 but, critically, many product developments, including Maintenance Exchange, are as a result of requests from our customers who are all focused on seeking mechanisms to reduce manual intervention as much as possible.”
