MV and AI to bring major opportunities in driver risk management, says Lytx

Developments in Machine Vision (MV) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are opening up significant opportunities for monitoring in-vehicle behaviour and alerting fleet managers to risks.

So says Lytx, which offers a suite of video safety and telematics services to help commercial, services and public sector operators meet evolving fleet requirements and will be showcasing its latest solutions at stand C1 at this Thursday’s free-to-attend Great British Fleet Event.

This includes its AI and MV capabilities, which enable fleets to go beyond normal telematics boundaries to further identify driver risks. So in addition to looking at behaviours associated with G-force, for example excessive braking or swerving, the use of MV and AI can pinpoint specific objects that could lead to unsafe driving, such as identifying when a mobile device or cigarette is being held or when a driver has forgotten to put their seatbelt on. This provides fleet managers with insights to deliver more productive and effective coaching sessions to help keep drivers safe.

MV and AI are just part of the Lytx product platform, which is built on a tiered approach, allowing fleet managers to customise their use of the company’s video, risk management and fleet management offerings based on their specific needs. This in turn helps fleet managers to answer questions about their fleet productivity, efficiency, driver behaviours and safety culture, all of which will continue to be key priorities for Lytx in 2020.
