PTM to transform fleet safety under Teletrac Navman deal

Specialist traffic management sub-contractor Premier Traffic Management (PTM) is on track to achieve greater operational efficiency and safety after deploying tracking and telematics technology from Teletrac Navman.

PTM has deployed Teletrac Navman’s connected fleet management platform DIRECTOR to address driver behaviour and safety across its 135-strong fleet, replacing a former, basic tracking solution.

The platform enables PTM to monitor driver behaviour – including harsh braking, acceleration and cornering – as well as rolling out a robust driver training programme.

The deal also includes fleet-wide installation of Teletrac Navman’s Dallas Key Driver ID technology, which allowing PTM to keep track of individual driver profiles when vehicles are not permanently assigned to a single employee.

Martin Fryer, fleet manager at PTM, said: “Having worked with Teletrac Navman and its market-leading software in a previous job, it was a no brainer when it came to selecting a tracking and telematics solution for our operations. This investment will transform the way we manage driver behaviour and the overall safety of our fleet by giving us greater visibility and the provision to devise and implement a formal driver training programme.”

Scott Hutchins, UK VP of sales at Teletrac Navman, added: “As a business that’s committed to all aspects of health and safety for its workforce, clients and the general public, Premier Traffic Management was seeking a solution that reflected this ethos, and our offering was a natural fit for its requirements. Our Professional Services team will also help deliver tangible benefits for the business, ensuring it can hit the ground running through smooth planning and implementation of the new technology, as well as training to make sure it extracts as much value from the solution as possible.”
