Public sector mobility comes under focus by Europcar Mobility Group

Europcar Mobility Group UK is to ramp up its focus on public sector mobility after being confirmed as an approved supplier for vehicle hire services on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) framework.

Effective from 5 September 2019, the three-year RM6013 framework for public sector vehicle hire solutions includes 10 suppliers, giving customers access to a wide range of short or long-term hire vehicle.

Europcar has been included in three Lots, ensuring that all public sector bodies have access to Europcar Mobility Group UK’s rental cars, vans, electric vehicles, ride hailing and car sharing schemes, bringing cost and efficiency advantages, according to the firm.

“Because our vehicles are the most CO2-efficient, meeting environmental and sustainability concerns and ensuring access into Clean Air Zones in central city locations in a cost-effective way, we are supporting the Government’s sustainability and carbon-reducing strategies,” said Peter Crabtree, corporate sales director, Europcar Mobility Group UK.

Crabtree also highlighted how Europcar Mobility Group UK offers a high level of flexibility, including rental duration and delivery and collection times, vehicle and fuel types, all without the need to be tied into long-term contracts.

“Our flexible approach to mobility solutions ensures certainty of vehicle supply and maximum savings for a public sector currently under considerable pressure to improve efficiency and reduce costs,” he added.

This includes the Europcar Advantage long-term hire service, which is particularly aimed at public sector organisations that do not want to commit to 3-5 year leasing or outright acquisition for car and van fleets, and is supported Service, Maintenance and Repair (SMR) services from BT Fleet Solutions to aid mission-critical operations.

Europcar’s full range of mobility solutions is also underpinned by its Europcar One real-time rental management portal, which can also deliver valuable MI for ongoing mobility management. Its solutions can also assist with reducing costs associated with grey miles, for example, through its Ubeeqo car share brand.

“Europcar Mobility Group UK’s appointment onto the Crown Commercial Services vehicle hire suppliers framework means we can now engage with public sector organisations with clear cost and supply parameters,” continued Crabtree. “And this means we can concentrate on developing bespoke solutions for each organisation’s needs.”
