Traction Finance adopts ServicePoint to manage SMR

Car/van leasing and rental firm Traction Finance has implemented the ServicePoint platform from Allstar to manage service, maintenance and repair across its 1,800 vehicle contract hire and leasing fleet.

The company, which has offices in Belfast and Dublin, offers a complete fleet management solution across the UK and Ireland, and has deployed ServicePoint to gain increased efficiency, improved cost control and reduced expenditure.

Launched by Allstar Business Solutions – part of FLEETCOR – in 2017, the ServicePoint SMR management platform has been created using technology from sister firm epyx’s 1link Service Network and provides an online portal that enables fleets to take control over where they have their vehicles serviced, repaired and maintained, what they pay and the work that is done.

Free of charge, available with or without an Allstar fuel card, and easy to adopt, it offers a large network of suppliers with negotiated discounts, access to technical expertise, price validation technology and all paperwork reduced to a single invoice.

Commenting on the implementation of the technology, Sam Green, operations director at Traction, said: “A large proportion of our vehicles are leased with maintenance including all routine servicing as well as consumables such as tyres and brakes, which creates quite a sizeable management task.

“Through adopting ServicePoint, we are aiming to make enhancements in all areas of SMR operations, using the system to take greater control, delivering better service at lower cost.”

A key element of the decision to use the platform, Green added, was the coverage enabled by the 5,500 providers offering SMR through ServicePoint across the UK and Northern Ireland.

“Our customers, both business and private, are quite widespread, so geographical coverage is a key point for us. We need to be able to provide SMR where and when people need it.”

Marc Lees (pictured), head of business development at epyx, commented: “We’re very pleased to be working with Traction, who have a highly professional approach to fleet management. It is great to be able to support their customers across Northern Ireland and the UK mainland.”
