Inaugural GBFE proves huge success with visitors and exhibitors

Responses are pouring in from visitors and exhibitors at the first-ever Great British Fleet Event, highlighting the success of the event at publicising the latest fleet industry challenges and solutions.

Held at the Novotel London West last Thursday 24 January 2019, the event used a ‘one-stop shop’ approach to bring together fleet and mobility managers with some of the industry’s leading experts through a busy conference line-up, a packed exhibition and networking section and a prestigious awards ceremony, recognising excellence from across the industry.

Praise has already been received for the comprehensive conference line-up, which covered four salient issues for fleets: Technology, the Future of Fleet Management, Electric Vehicles and Urban Fleets. Speakers included Simon Roberts, principal city planner at Transport for London, who looked at “London’s toxic air crisis”, how April’s introduction of the Ultra Low Emission Zone will help and what fleets need to do to ready themselves; while Sam Clarke, founder of Gnewt, covered the firm’s electric vehicle journey and outlined his advice for other firms looking to go green.

Visitors were also treated to everything from a visual test demo from Vision Express to the chance to spray-paint a vehicle themselves using AI technology on the Smart Fleet Solutions stand.

Networking opportunities were further backed up by the afternoon’s awards ceremony, which saw the winners of the inaugural Great British Fleet Awards revealed, from the Financial, Operational, HR, Fleet Management and Eco Superstars among the nation’s fleet managers to the winners of the Van Manufacturer and the Fleet Car Manufacturer accolades.
