Europcar gears up for Sheffield Clean Air Zone with major new rental site

Europcar has opened a major new van rental site in Sheffield, providing operators with compliant vehicles ahead of the city’s 2021 introduction of a Clean Air Zone.

Part of Europcar’s expanding supersite network, the new 23,000 square foot site is located in Parkway Avenue in the city, and gives businesses access to a wide range of commercial vehicles, including car-derived vans, short and long wheelbase as well as more specialised light commercial vehicles.

Most vehicles are available within a two-hour booking window and the site also offers a team of van experts with local knowledge who can help businesses identify the right vehicle for every job.

As well as CAZ-compliant diesel vehicles, the site will provide access to electric cars and vans, providing businesses with crucial low-emission solutions for the ‘Class C’ charging clean air zone, which will apply to non-compliant vans, lorries, buses and taxis using the inner ring road.

Stuart Russell, sales director commercial vehicles, Europcar Mobility Group UK, commented: “As investment continues in the North, the businesses supporting this growth may need to add to their commercial vehicle fleets at short notice to deal with additional work. Or, as is often the case, they may need one or two additional vehicles for individual jobs.

“The range of vehicles available from our new Sheffield Van Supersite, combined with the commercial vehicle expertise of the local team, means we can underpin the operations of those businesses very effectively. Plus, with many UK firms looking for an alternative to the long-term financial commitment of outright vehicle purchase or leasing, Europcar AdVANtage – our flexible rental solution for 84 days plus – will also be available from the new Sheffield site.”
