Brake to begin 25th celebrations at GBFE 2020

Brake, the road safety charity, is celebrating its 25th anniversary next year with a wide array of campaigns and events – including returning as an exhibitor to the Fleet World Great British Fleet Event.

Part of its work to champion safe and healthy mobility in fleets, Brake’s presence at the 2020 GBFE – which takes place on 30 January at the London Novotel West – will see it showcase its Global Fleet Champions global campaign to reduce road deaths and prevent pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.

Free to join, the campaign is a partnership initiative, overseen by academic and practitioner experts working in the field of occupational road risk, and provides fleets of all sizes and types with resources to manage occupational road risk.

The Great British Fleet Event will also provide Brake with a platform to connect and network with the fleet industry, bringing together a community of organisations who want to prioritise fleet safety and sustainability across the UK.

Next year will also see Brake launch its Global Fleet Champions Summit and UK Fleet Champions Awards as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations. Taking place on 14-15 October at the Etihad in Manchester, this event will unite and replace the formerly separate Brake Fleet Safety Conference and Awards, to celebrate safety successes in the fleet world and share best practice. Further details will be released in the coming months.

Brake will also run its annual Road Safety Week next year. The theme and date will be announced next year but the event will once more serve to stimulate community involvement in promoting road safety awareness, supported by the Department for Transport.
