Driving for Better Business rolls out fleet safety message further with new partners

Driving for Better Business has signed a host of new partners in the fleet, technology, insurance and conference sectors to further roll out its free road safety guidance and solutions.

New partners include fleet decarbonisation and safety technology specialist Lightfoot, professional services firm Aon, HSE Global Series and Couriers Depot. Other newcomers include Flagship Partners, Convey Technology and VDO UK.

The new partners will share DfBB resources with their employees and customers, helping to get the organisation’s road safety message out further.

Driving for Better Business is a free-to-access business engagement programme from National Highways that aims to improve work related road safety by promoting good risk management practices and demonstrating the business benefits of managing drivers and vehicles in line with current industry good practice. Its services and solutions include the free Van Driver Toolkit and the newly launched interactive Driving for Work Policy Builder.

Lightfoot, which offers fleet management and tracking technology to empower drivers to be safer, will use the collaboration to enhance its existing work to help businesses create a safety-first culture.

Paul Hollick, managing director, said: “Through this affiliation, our customers will have access to a range of free resources, guides and tools. These will help deliver significant benefits, both for the companies and their employees: an important milestone on the journey towards safer roads for all.”

Aon, which has a suite of tools to support the management of fleet risk, such as its new Fleet Risk Intelligence platform, will promote DfBB’s resources to customers to build on its own data-led, proactive risk management solutions.

Dr Neale Kinnear, head of behavioural insights at Aon, commented: “It’s fantastic to work alongside Driving for Better Business to support organisations operating fleets to better understand their risk and to be able to use data, feedback and principles of behaviour change effectively – which is what Fleet Risk Intelligence is all about.”

And Couriers Depot, a one-stop-shop for delivery agents, will use the DfBB assets to augment its own work as a trusted source for essential courier products.

Justin Cox, founder of Couriers Depot, explained: “DfBB has a host of resources, such as the Van Driver Toolkit, that are perfect for our target market with a potential reach of tens of thousands of couriers. We see this partnership as one of education to the courier industry, as well as influencing mini-cab companies and managers of haulage firms.”

The new partnerships were created by the DfBB business development team, which comprises Jim Magner, Sharon Mitchell and Nigel Holmes.
