80% of vans face clean air zone penalty charges, according to Manheim, which has published a free guide to help fleets understand what they need to do to avoid impact.
With less than two months to go until the first clean air zone go live in the form of London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), followed from 2020 by schemes including Birmingham and Leeds, the remarketing specialist is warning that around 3.3 million vans do not currently meet the ULEZ/CAZ exemption criteria.
In response, the firm’s free clean air zone guide outlines how such schemes work and the actions that van operators should take.
“With so much uncertainty surrounding the introduction of the ULEZ and CAZs, we have published a guide for van operators highlighting the key facts and how these zones could impact their business operations if they do not have compliant vehicles,” said James Davis, Cox Automotive’s customer strategy and insight director for commercial vehicles.
