Licence Check has reported a record number of licence checks carried out in July on company drivers.
The total number of checks carried out by the Derby-based company, now part of the Ebbon-Dacs group, were up 58% year-on-year compared to July 2018, and even up 9% on May 2019 – the company’s previous record-breaking month.
The record results come as the company’s cloud-based Driver and Vehicle Information Solution brand, DAVIS, continues to receive outstanding reviews from system users for its efficiency, clarity and ease of use. Of 149 reviews carried out via the Trustpilot website, 97% of users rated the system either ‘excellent’ or ‘great’, resulting in a five-star ranking and scoring 9.5 out of 10.
Licence Check has also seen growth in the number of companies using DAVIS, which automates and streamlines driver and vehicle compliance management and addresses duty of care.
This includes new deals with major corporates, such as public transport operator Abellio London and parcel delivery network DPDgroup, which are now using DAVIS to automate their driver compliance.
Growth has also come through an active network of channel partners that the company now works with; they resell Licence Check services either as a complete solution or by deploying specific modules from DAVIS in order to enhance their offering to customers.
Licence Check general manager Terry Hiles said the record results were testimony to the hard work the company had been carrying out in the last 12-18 months.
“We are delighted with these results as they are vindication of the effort that everyone at the company has put in, as well as being confirmation of the enhancements we have made to DAVIS in recent months and of the benefits they bring.
“We have seen an increase in the number of major corporate customers we are working with, who fully realise the importance of legal compliance and meeting their duty of care obligations to both their drivers and to the public at large.
“And we are working with a number of network partners which has meant an increased number of licence checks as a result.
“There are three levels of partner programmes available. DAVIS can be incorporated into a partner’s own portfolio through an API integration, or as a “white labelled” service, depending on how much time they wish to dedicate to the partnership and what level of development resource they have access to,” he added.
Licence Check also introduced a series of new releases earlier this year, timed to coincide with the Commercial Vehicle Show in April and bringing important new functionality to DAVIS, including accident recording, enhanced licence checking and improved security.
Since introducing new onboarding methods, adding drivers and more importantly, gaining driver permission, is simple, fast and efficient. With four methods now to choose from, DAVIS continues to streamline processes, reducing the number of steps and minimising manual intervention.
Ebbon-Dacs director Craig Gibbin added: “These outstanding and record results are a major achievement and a real reflection of the hard work and effort put in by the team at Derby. It’s also clear that the important new releases for DAVIS earlier in the year are having a positive impact on improving efficiency and transparency when managing driver and vehicle compliance.”
