SEAT has appointed Lucas Casasnovas as head of urban mobility as it accelerates efforts in this field.
The role will see Casasnovas consolidate all of the company’s projects related with new urban mobility, including its Xmoba mobility technology subsidiary and the Respiro car sharing start-up that SEAT acquired in spring 2018, while also expanding its work in urban mobility. The carmaker’s urban mobility strategy also includes the Minimó concept car which was presented at Mobile World Congress earlier this year, along with the SEAT eXS Kickscooter powered by Segway, with Casasnovas having spearheaded the launch.
Casasnovas brings almost 25 years’ experience in the automotive sector and was previously global director of product marketing. Former roles also include global launch director of Volkswagen AG and product marketing Europe director of VW’s compact segment.
SEAT vice-president for sales and marketing Wayne Griffiths said: “Urban mobility is changing, and our role at SEAT is to adapt our business and offer new solutions for the cities of today. Lucas Casasnovas will have the goal of consolidating projects currently in progress and boost future strategy regarding new mobility trends.”
