The Project EDWARD road safety campaign is now live for 2020, bringing a full week of activities to help reduce work-related road risk.
The campaign, first launched in 2016 across Europe, has evolved for 2020 into a UK-specific initiative with a focus on ‘Every Day Without a Road Death’. It’s being run this week (14-18 September) and targets action on cutting fleet road risks in the UK, supported by key organisations including Driving for Better Business and Highways England.
The campaign is also being underpinned by work from police forces nationally, cracking down on areas including speeding, fatigue and loading.
A virtual ‘road trip’ is also being run, stopping at multiple locations each day to share content, knowledge, interviews and stories all linked to keeping those who drive for work safe.
Areas under focus include safer drivers, safer vehicles, safer journeys and driver wellbeing as well as how best to manage those who drive for work in order to reduce risk, control costs and improve efficiency.
