Trakm8 and Iceland Foods win last-mile delivery accolade at Retail Systems Awards

Trakm8 and Iceland Foods have taken the Delivery Solution of the Year title at this year’s Retail Systems Awards in recognition of their work to revolutionise home deliveries.

The accolade honours the work of Trakm8’s AI Optimisation and Slot Booking Solution, which has been integrated into Iceland Foods’ operations to optimise last-mile deliveries and cut fuel costs, setting a new standard in the retail delivery sector.

Trakm8’s technology manages slot booking, vehicle loading and routing schedules through advanced AI optimisation, providing essential front-end software and apps for comprehensive data management. The solution integrates with Iceland Foods’ tills and online ordering systems, enhancing their delivery capabilities.

Iceland Foods offers home delivery bookings, available online and in-store. Trakm8’s software and algorithms are used to plan vehicle selection, loading and delivery order, significantly optimising the delivery process.

A second-generation solution using Trakm8’s latest optimisation algorithm and slot booking solution is projected to further reduce vehicle fuel costs.

Trakm8 also provides telematics and camera systems, built on the same software platform, allowing for deeper data integration and a unified platform for comprehensive fleet management.

John Watkins, executive chairman at Trakm8, said: “Winning this prestigious award is a fantastic accolade. Our AI Optimisation & Slot Booking Algorithms are best in class and have delivered remarkable results. We are thrilled to have Iceland Foods as a valued customer benefiting from our last-mile delivery solutions. The development of our AI Optimisation has revolutionised last-mile delivery operations for supermarkets and retailers.”

Emma Tysoe, head of IT development for retail & marketing systems at Iceland Foods, added: “Our collaboration with Trakm8 has reduced costs and significantly impacted our fleet delivery operations, and our customers are enjoying quicker and smarter deliveries.”
