Upgraded Honda Civic brings bolder styling and extra equipment

Honda is introducing a range of upgrades for the 2020 Civic, offering increased equipment and more sporty styling.

Starting deliveries in January 2020, the revised Civic brings an updated front-end, including a revised grille, intended to bring a cleaner, more aerodynamic design. New features also include full LED headlight clusters, and redesigned LED daytime running lights. This is augmented by availability of new 16-inch alloy wheels for the entry-level model and 17-inch alloys for mid- and top-range models as well as a new ‘Obsidian Blue’ paint finish.

Interior changes bring revised materials and an electric eight-way adjustable driver’s seat available on top-of-the-range models.

Honda has also updated the connected infotainment system with physical buttons and dials for the infotainment and climate controls, in response to customer demand.

Engine line-up is carried over and includes the  126hp 1.0-litre VTEC Turbo unit, which achieves NEDC Correlated-rated CO2 emissions from 107g/km for the CVT-equipped model, and WLTP fuel economy from 49.6 mpg. The larger 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo petrol option produces 182hp, with NEDC Correlated emissions from 128g/km for the six-speed manual model and combined WLTP fuel economy of 46.3mpg.

Honda’s recently revised 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine offers 120hp, combined with emissions of 90g/km when equipped with the six-speed manual transmission, and fuel economy of 62.8mpg.

All models feature Honda SENSING active safety and driver assist technologies, which incorporate Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System and Traffic Sign Recognition.
