Fleet operators can get insight into ways to eliminate driver distractions at a free webinar being run by Brake.
The webinar will be held on 10 October 2019 and delivered as part of its Global Fleet Champions global campaign, which launched earlier this year to help operators prevent crashes and reduce pollution.
The webinar, Eliminating driver distractions, will tackle the key topic of why distraction is an important road safety issue, and why drivers get distracted. This will include outlining policies to help reduce driver distraction plus measures to help employers identify drivers who may be at risk of being distracted. The webinar will also look at the means to raise awareness of distraction through education and communication programmes.
Sarah Plumb, senior fleet officer at Brake, said: “Driving requires the full attention of the driver. Hazards can arise at any time and a moment’s distraction can have fatal consequences. Preventing driver distraction is one of the most important things that fleet managers can do to make their workforce safer.”
