DriveTech expands focus on training 4×4 fleets under new appointment

DriveTech has appointed John Sibley to the permanent position of training solutions manager (off-road training) in line with its expanding focus in this area.

The 4×4 fleet training sector is already a core specialism for DriveTech and Sibley has been working on a contract basis with the company for more than three years, but his move to a permanent position will help the company grow further as it highlights how driver safety and driver risk management best practice is as important off-road as it is on.

Sibley joined DriveTech from the Army where he served 34 years in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). His expertise is in Recovery and during his career he was the senior Recovery advisor for the Tri-Services before being commissioned. He spent most of his commissioned service in the training environment in a variety of jobs including training design, planning and delivery.

Commenting on his appointment to the new permanent position, Sibley commented: “We have worked hard to build our sector-leading course portfolio, which is externally accredited by RoSPA, and I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of conveying both the theory and practical elements of all our professional off-road training.

“We have some great customers with significant 4×4 fleets and it is really satisfying to see a leap in knowledge and 4×4 prowess when we deliver. And this can only make off road and on road driving safer and more effective too.”
