Ford Transit Custom and Ranger get MS-RT treatment to create ultimate range-toppers

Ford, partner to this year’s Great British Fleet Event, has launched exclusive versions of the Transit Custom and Ranger in partnership with MS-RT.

On sale now, the new range-toppers take the models to the next level with motorsport-inspired looks and enhanced driving experience while still delivering advanced capabilities. The line-up also includes an electric E-Transit Custom version with beefed-up power and design.

Designed as the “ultimate van”, the Transit Custom MS-RT is derived from the latest-generation version and upgraded with race-inspired exterior styling, bespoke interior specification, and a range of powertrain options including diesel, plug-in hybrid and full electric.

Its enhanced driving experience is teamed up with the enhanced productivity and load carrying capabilities of the latest Transit Custom, offering up to 6.8m3 maximum load space and up to 1,124kg maximum net payload.

The battery electric E-Transit Custom MS-RT model boasts the highest power output of any Transit Custom to date with a 285hp motor powering the rear wheels. Drivers can dial down the power in Normal and Eco modes to suit needs.

The Custom MS-RT is also available with the 170hp 2.0-litre EcoBlue diesel engine and an eight-speed automatic gearbox, with optional intelligent all-wheel drive, or as a front-wheel drive, six-speed manual version with 150hp. The 232hp plug-in hybrid variant features a 2.5-litre petrol engine and a 11.8kWh battery.

The Transit Custom MS-RT “ultimate van” is accompanied by the Ford Ranger MS-RT as the “ultimate street truck”.

It delivers bold design from muscular bodywork, lowered suspension and 21-inch alloy wheels while also gaining a unique suspension and wheel set-up to enhance its on-road capability.

The premium pickup is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine delivering 240hp and 600Nm, married up with a 10-speed automatic transmission and delivering the new e4WD full-time four-wheel drive system as found in other models in the latest Ranger line-up.

The Ranger MS-RT also maintains the same one-tonne load-carrying ability and 3,500kg of towing capacity of the all-new Ranger.

Both fully connected commercial vehicles are also integrated with the Ford Pro platform of software and connected services to help small businesses reduce cost of ownership, maximise uptime and optimise the productivity of their vehicles.

Services include end-to-end charging solutions for electric models, management tools from Ford Pro Telematics and the FordPass Pro app, as well as the FordLiive connected uptime system.

Hans Schep, general manager, Ford Pro Europe, said: “We’re delighted to add MS-RT models to our Ford Pro portfolio, offering an exciting, halo option from the dealership for customers who need a commercial vehicle but also want to make a statement about their business. More customers are wanting a work vehicle for the week but something that supports their lifestyle at the weekend. These new MS-RT vehicles are the perfect answer.”

The new MS-RT models are available to order now from Ford Pro dealers across Europe, with deliveries starting mid-2024.
