Brake is running a free webinar that will provide fleet operators with advice on prioritising the mental health of drivers.
The webinar will be held on 10 December 2019 and delivered as part of the Global Fleet Champions campaign, which seeks to prevent crashes and reduce pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.
Topics under focus in the webinar include:
- The causes and symptoms of mental health conditions and the impact they can have on driving behaviour;
- How to address the stigma of mental illness;
- How to identify potential mental health issues in your workforce; and
- How to develop a culture that puts people first and values their welfare.
Sarah Plumb, senior fleet officer at Brake, said: “Professional drivers often spend a lot of time alone in their vehicle and may have little interaction with colleagues in person. Without regular face-to-face interaction it can be difficult for supervisors to recognise that something is wrong, and this can lead to mental health issues going unnoticed. This webinar will provide those responsible for at-work drivers with expert advice on how to identify mental health issues in your workforce and how to develop a culture that puts people first.”
